UEFA Is Nuts on Life Bans Over Bungs

Does UEFA want all football agents to get a life ban? Doesn’t UEFA know that a few people were exposed in the bung scandal because they were not lucky smart enough to cover their tracks?

Implementing a life ban on agents will destroy and expose so many people that would be detrimental to the sport. Illegal activities are definitely happening in the league and clubs would not mind throwing away pennies to ensure their million euro investments’ on their teams.

However Cocky, I Believe in Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry (Arsenal)Thierry Henry’s words are confident and cocky enough to write off their next opponents even before the game starts. Thierry Henry, the prized striker of Arsenal, says he’s back and fit for their weekend encounter with Sheffield United and assures their fans they will score early into the game. After scoring a number of goals, they will use the width of the field to play them the rest of the time.

Is Arsenal capable of winning against Sheffield? That’s definitely an insult, Sheffield belong to the lower ranks of the premiership while Arsenal have a superb team who just beaten the crap out of Manchester United even without Thierry Henry playing. He and Adebayour will be a strong force upfront that would provide a lot of scoring threats and shots on goal throughout the game. Cesc Fabregas on the other hand, will play his usual at the midfield position having a great time choosing who between Henry and Adebayour will be the recipient of his passes for their next goal.

Owen Hargreaves’ Hope of Playing with Manchester United is Wishful Thinking

Owen Hargreaves (Bayern Munich)Owen Hargreaves has declared he is still hopeful to play for Manchester United despite a transfer failure where Bayern Munich has rejected the £17million offer from Manchester United. He is looking at the January transfer to be finally moved out of Bayern back into England.

Bayern Munich clearly wants him to finish his contract at the Allianz Arena and may require an amount so much higher than £17million to let him go. If Owen doesn’t play well until January then no team would even pay him the £17million which was already rejected. If he does play well then Bayern Munich will definitely lock him down until his contract expires or they could demand a price too high for any team to afford.

There is Nothing to Celebrate in Xabi Alonso’s Goal Against Newcastle

Xabi Alonso (Liverpool)Liverpool managed to make it to the top half of the Premiership after a series of pathetic games against Everton and Chelsea saw their standing drop by winning against a lowly squad in Newscastle. Liverpool won the game with a score of 2 – 0 on goals coming from Dirk Kuyt and Xabi Alonso.

Xabi Alonso was happy to fire a goal from 65 yards straight to the back of the net giving Liverpool their second goal. There is nothing to celebrate really, especially when both goals of Liverpool where scored against a second-rated goalkeeper—Steve Harper—who was clearly off in both instances.

Harry Redknapp is Playing the Media Until Evidence Can Pin Him Down

Harry Redknapp (Portsmouth)I haven’t seen it (the programme) but I’m looking forward to going home and having a nice cup of tea and a slice of toast and watching it because I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong.

Why would Harry worry about the “tap up” between him and agent Peter Harrison about Blackburn captain Andy Todd? Why would he care if it is against FA rules?

Harry’s Portmouth team is enjoying success in the premiership this season and would not worry getting any disciplinary action from his club and at most will just get a warning from FA and some change monetary penalties.

Manchester United Fans point their Frustration to Jens Lehmann

Jens Lehmann (Arsenal)The aggression between Arsenal and Manchester United continue as Jens Lehmann is accused of kicking a bottle to the East Stand straight to a fan at Old Trafford during their game last Sunday. In previous occasions, pizzas where thrown at Arsenal’s tunnel (2002) and Arsenal defender getting penalized with his encounter with Rudd Van Nistelrooy (2004); in both times, Arsenal lost 0 – 2.

Chelsea and Michael Ballack did the Right thing and Saved their Face from Embarrassment

Michael Ballack (Chelsea)Michael Ballack was given a red card by referee Mike Riley for stomping Mohamed Sissoko of Liverpool. He was in disbelief and in protest of the red card, after it was handed down to him, only to backtrack after video replay evidence showed he was too late and did not have the ball in play when he arrived.

Chelsea allowed the 1 pm deadline for filing of protest pass and see Michael sit it out for their games against Fulham, Aston Villa and Reading while eligible for play against Levski Sofia and Portmouth.

It is no brainer that Chelsea should no longer appeal the ugly incident caught on tape, instead they should start making adjustments while Michael Ballack is serving his suspension.

Arsenal has Unloaded their Guns Against Manchester United

Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal)I did not expect it was going to happen at Old Trafford but I am relieved Arsenal has finally won a game this season against a streaking Manchester United despite missing Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Philippe Senderos.

Manchester United behind Christian Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha could not put the ball behind the net and the loss dampens the ego of Alex Ferguson who publicly declared they could score ten goals against Celtic.

Henry Should Sit Out Game Against Manchester United

Henry is still hurting on his recurring foot injury and playing against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday is the last thing Arsene Wenger should do because no matter what it is, their young players have not developed into a cohesive unit to take out Manchester United at this early stage of the season.
