Ferguson is Lying About Ruud

Ferguson is lying when he said their parting with their scoring Machine Ruud Van Nistelrooy was “very painful”. He plotted it, wanted it, and drove him out of Old Trafford; but what he doesn’t realize is that the parting with his prized striker is going to get more painful than he thought as the season starts and progress deep into the year.

As Ferguson says: It’s how they react and adapt to being left out that counts. Ruud was different in that way and so that’s what happened.

Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals for United in 219 games, but was dropped during their final game with Wigan Athletic in favour of France striker Louis Saha.

The difficulty with footballers today is the satisfaction you have to give them in terms of picking the team.

So every time you pick a team there are two or three players you’re hesitant about telling they are not playing.

Maybe they are big players or have been a big player for you in the past. Or maybe you have a special relationship with them.

You hope they will agree with reasons for leaving them out but sometimes a player doesn’t and I can understand that.

That won’t happen because of Manchester’s Lineup. Really?

Manchester United has got a lot of scoring options in Louis Saha, Wayne Rooney, Alan Smith and Cristiano Ronaldo but neither one of them are as deadly and consistent as Ruud. It could be argued that Ruud’s level of play has dropped especially when he was not played in favor of Louis Saha last season but his numbers are still valuable to the team and unless Manchester is able to find some decent replacement their midfield buffing up may just turn to waste.

Louis Saha

His 24 goals in 66 matches looks bright but not as close as what Ruud can give you, also his physical health is continuously haunted down by his knee injuries.

Wayne Rooney

The superstar status of Wayne Rooney is well deserved because of his fast paced, running and positioning game which could see him scoring around 20 goals but still not enough.

Alan Smith

With only 9 goals last season, this player is more of a support scorer than anyone close to carrying the load on hi shoulders.

Christian Ronaldo

His fierceness, youth and talent should provide another bright light for Manchester United if he grows and mature this year, but definitely he won’t be close to Ruud’s capabilities.

It doesn’t seem Manchester United is in the hunt for a replacement anytime soon and they may just realize how painful Ruud’s loss to them would be more than they can imagine.
