Harry Redknapp is Playing the Media Until Evidence Can Pin Him Down
I haven’t seen it (the programme) but I’m looking forward to going home and having a nice cup of tea and a slice of toast and watching it because I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong.
Why would Harry worry about the “tap up” between him and agent Peter Harrison about Blackburn captain Andy Todd? Why would he care if it is against FA rules?
Harry’s Portmouth team is enjoying success in the premiership this season and would not worry getting any disciplinary action from his club and at most will just get a warning from FA and some change monetary penalties.
His discussion on Andy Todd in Portmouth’s canteen was secretly filmed and shall be shown in a documentary in BBC Panorama film. Harry knows that nothing detrimental is going to happen to him and his club should this video showing his discussion on Andy Todd, simply because it is too small and a prize too high to pay for the club, organizing body and the league.
This is not evidence of any serious illegal activities participated by Redknapp and his team; but rather a forgivable media publicity trick to satisfy everyone that they are policing the wrongdoings of the league. Redknapp knows it and he knows the system would not allow anything that would jeopardize the league long-term on sanctions.
This documentary is just the tip of what is really going on in football and penalizing Redknapp may expose a lot more dirty activities going on in the sport which may eventually hurt the league. Breaking the laughable rules of FA is done by everybody but only the less fortunate ones get caught and publicized.
