Right move for Fabio who resigns before he gets trashed to Serie B following an investigation of game-fixing in the last two Italian titles. Smart and quick decision before he sees his value diminish together with hopes of coaching Real Madrid; Ramon Calderon was elected as the President of the club after their sick election was resolved and has promised the fans that he will bring Fabio to Real.
A nice move for Real Madrid in getting a coach without spending a penny given the clause that allows Fabio to transfer without extra luggage behind him.
Why Not Real for Fabio?
Why shouldn’t Fabio transfer to a club that saw all it’s strategies resulted in total failure which would give him the perfect excuse for underperforming his duties. No pressure for Capello, whose career may be in danger because of the biggest scandal in Italy, to revolutionize and turn this team around. He can sit leisurely all day and just worry on how to spend his big fat wallet.
What’s Next for Real
After they sign Fabio they are going after Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea’s Arjen Robben, as well as Brazil star Kaka from AC Milan.
Unless AC Milan gets punished with it’s involvement in the scandal he should stay with his current squad instead of playing for a team that cares only about stuffing them with superstars and let them outshine each other to win games.
He has a great club who is achieving more from what is expected and is built around his prowess. Kaka should stay. Period.
As for Fabio, throw him to Real and let them see his magic wand pointed aimlessly.
