Patrick Viera is the latest player to be dealt out of Juventus and both Manchester United and Inter Milan are in the hunt for veteran midfielder.
The French midfielder expressed his desire to leave the club and is certain he’s going to leave Juventus because of it’s relegation to Serie B – I will certainly not be playing for Juventus next season after they were relegated to Serie B.
I’m still looking for a new club. There might be some sort of conclusion in the next 48 hours and it’s a very important decision for me.
Manchester United is a better option than Inter Milan given its’ status in the world of football but most especially because of Patrick’s view of the team—Everyone wants to play for a club like Manchester United at the very highest level. It might be difficult after nine years at Arsenal but anything can happen in football.
I’d like to see Patrick play in Manchester because of the following reasons:
1. He’ll be retiring in a few years time and finishing his career at Manchester United is better than Inter Milan.
2. He will play alongside a young and talented midfielder in recently acquired Michael Carrick from Tottenham.
3. By helping out young players like Rooney, Ronaldo and Carrick, Patrick will leave a better and mature club which could add in his legacy.
4. He’ll definitely have a better season and more win columns in Manchester United.
Unless Manchester United decides to pick their other midfield of choice – Marcos Senna, all indications point to Viera joining Manchester United sans the bold proclamation of Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti that Patrick is joining the team soon.
Never mind Inter Milan, set your foot on Old Trafford and prepare to have an excellent season, retirement and longer lasting legacy.
